7 Upcoming Video Game Reboots That'll Blow You Away In 2016

7. Unreal Tournament

You'd have thought the news that a new Unreal Tournament was on the way would be one of the big, persistent hot topics in the games world, but the unconventional way in which Epic Games have gone about making it has turned it into one of the most exciting games you probably haven't heard about. That's because the source code for the game has been made available to any coder or developer with an Unreal Engine 4 subscription, opening the game out to crowdsourcing - development by the gaming community. Modders of previous games in the series, fans and coders are all working on the new UT in collaboration with Epic Games, and this unique development experiment seems to be working out well based on what we've seen so far. The game looks set to capture that fast-paced arena-shooter spirit of the Unreal Tournaments of old, and features all of the classic weapons and arenas of its ancestors, while also teasing plenty of new levels of its own. The love for the series is evident in all the work that's been done on the game, and the fact that it's a developer-community project makes us desperately hope that it'll succeed, and pave the way for more collaborations like this in the future.
