7 Video Games Made HARDER With Co-op
5. Dark Souls 2: Scholar Of The First Sin
So in case you hadn't heard, Dark Souls, both as a game series and as a way of life (big up my fat rollers who the buffet of pain known as life) is a pretty hard ride.
You die. A lot. And even when you're not chomping on a sweet backstab, you're beset with such depressive environments that it starts to feel quite bloody lonely. As such you might be very tempted to call in a helping hand or two to make the brutal gauntlet between bonfires that bit easier, however before you light up a big fat humanity and pass it around the bonfire, you might want to consider something.
This is a Fromsoftware series, and as such help is something rarely given without a price being paid.
That's because even though boss battles can be made significantly easier, being human also invokes the possibility of being invaded by other players, and lemme tell you something, having to battle both PVP and PVD at once is no joke. PVD is player vs DICKHEADS WHO CONSTANTLY SLIP AND SLIDE ALL OVER THE PLACE THANKS TO WONKY NETCODE.
Plus when it comes to Dark Souls 2: Scholar of The First Sin, where you could summon up to three other spirits to help, players soon realized that certain enemies like Heide Knights aggroed immediately making the challenge even more extreme. Plus with a full party, their damage was actually being reduced by 67% of their normal value, making chewing through even basic enemies an utter slog, and remember, the longer you spend in Dark Souls combat, the more likely it's going to be that you're going to make a mistake.
