7 Ways Injustice 2 Raises The Bar For Fighting Games
4. The Story Mode Is Stellar
DC has always offered top-notch material in World's Finest storylines, and this one is not lacking. The introduction of Brainiac as the story's main bad guy was a smart move as well, and as the story progresses, the character becomes genuinely menacing ,with his desire to micronize and enslave all civilizations in an endless pursuit of knowledge.
In terms of gameplay, the nice thing about the story mode is the way it's been structured. You start off playing with various characters and you get to see the story unravel from their points of view. It’s a great way to introduce the fighting styles of all the characters because, in a way, you’re forced to play with them and get to practice with their moves (this was carried over from the first Injustice).
Many fans voiced their opinions on it because they had a hard time learning the moves of the character and progressing with the story. So, NetherRealm studios addressed this issue by having the player choose between two buddy characters during any given chapter in the storyline.
The best part is, the story and its cinematics change according to whatever character was chosen, with multiple branches and more importantly, multiple endings.
