3. PES 2013 (Xbox, PS3, PC)
Against the juggernaut that is FIFA, PES has struggled to find a footing in the last few years. After the terrible excuse that was PES 2012, Konami have finally brought PES back to the promised land. I am a longtime PES fan and while 2013 isn't perfect, it does offer a much different experience to it's rival. The game looks beautiful with excellent player likeness and superb lighting. After all these years Konami have nailed it so perhaps it's an even greater tragedy then, that the online community have all but destroyed the game. Master League Online (PES 2013's Ultimate Team) is one of the coolest game modes in recent years. It rewards skill over anything else (unlike FIFA's Ultimate Team where you can buy a team) and can be incredibly addictive. But the game has been completely destroyed by lag cheaters. It's so frequent that it makes playing the game online totally pointless. If you're lucky enough to get into a legit match, 75% of people online simply abuse through ball spamming. The through ball passing is in fact so overpowered, it's gamebreaking. It's a real shame for fans that have waited this long for a proper PES title, made worse so by the fact that the game is actually quite good.
