Mafia for the PC was a work of art. The port for the Xbox and PS2... not so much. Even though the Windows version was compared to Grand Theft Auto III in terms of style and quality, this gangster shooter only managed a Metacritic score of 66% on consoles.

Regardless of what version of Mafia you played, the ending can't avoid packing an emotional wallop. The story follows a down-on-his-luck cab driver called Tommy Angelo, who works his way into the Salieri crime family. After living a life of glamour for many years, all the bloodshed that Tommy witnesses encourages him to give Salieri up to the police. Even though Tommy is imprisoned for eight years for his association with Salieri, he accepts it, seeing his incarceration as a penance.

Once freed, Tommy vows to dedicate the remainder of his life to his family. But while tending to his garden one day, two hitmen hired by Salieri walk up to Tommy and shoot him dead.

If you had the misfortune of playing Mafia on the Xbox or PS2 and managed to get through the whole thing, this heartbreaking scene should've more than made up for it.
