8 Best Video Game Endings You Can't Get On A First Playthrough
1. Ending E - NieR Replicant
God Bless you Yoko Taro, you are such a strange creature that I'm not even sure if you're human at this point and not just an alien who floated in from the skies above and focused very specifically on making utterly insane video games.
As you might expect from the mind behind the likes of Drakengard and the almighty Neir: Automata, when it came to the reimagining of Neir Replicant, Yoko Taro and his team weren't exactly going to just squirt out a simple high-res update and call it a day.
Far from it in fact as in this version of the game we are presented with a new ending, Ending E, which is, and I'm not kidding here, the most ball-breakingly tough thing to unlock but at the same time one you will almost desperately want to seek out. Confused? Perfect, then you're in the right frame of mind for this.
Each time you complete the game, you'll unlock a rather dour ending but also the option to carry on playing with a pseudo-New Game Plus mode. Working your way through again sees you fight new bosses, experience new story beats and allows you to collect all 30 different weapons in the game.
With all of your arsenal fully loaded and pretty much everything in the game ticked off, you'd be forgiven for thinking that the final boss for Ending D was going to be all she wrote, especially seeing as the game makes you delete all of your save data! However, this itself isn't even the final, true, I'm serious this time ending!
Go through once more and you'll finally be able to see the best ending, AND restore your previous saved content to boot. I tell you now, this is one hell of a ride.
