Since its debut, Red Dead Redemption has received universal praise for its cinematic set-pieces, powerful narrative, and flawless world-building. But being a Xbox 360 title, the cracks are showing on this 13-year-old shooter. As such, fans have been praying for a Red Dead remaster.

Now, a revision of the Wild West action-adventure title was on the cards at one point. Sadly, the developers seemingly put an end to it, to focus more on Grand Theft Auto VI. (You can't blame them after how abominable GTA: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition turned out.)

However, we may have jumped the six-shooter, since there are hints the original Red Dead is being reworked. As has been mentioned by Gematsu, the Game Rating and Administration Committee of Korea published a new age rating for the game in June 2023. This occurred several months after Sony removed RDR from Playstation NOW. This decision suggests the original was taken off the cloud subscription, so it could be replaced with a more polished version or a full-blown remake.

Whether it's true or not, Red Dead Redemption Redux would certainly be at the top of many gamers' wish-lists.
