8 Biggest Unsung Heroes Working In The Video Game Industry

5. Stephen Oyoung - Motion Capture Performance

If any group of people could lay claim to the title of 'unsung hero' - at least in respect to the video game industry - it would be mo-cap artists.

These champions of physical performance make games what they are today, as technology has necessitated their role remains paramount to a successful title. Everything from facial capture to stunt animation has led to performing auteurs gaining a newfound position in the medium, and Stephen Oyoung has to be among the most prolific.

Having provided visual capture for both games and films, Oyoung's talents have proved to be instrumental in both mediums. Gaming in particular is now more reliant on mo-cap stuntmen than ever before, and as studios everywhere strive to portray combat and action more convincingly, I very much doubt their presence will wane. Oyoung may only represent just one of the many hardworking performers that operate in the industry, but his work is definitely something to make note of nonetheless.

I mean, just take a look at that highlight reel. There's a reason why The Old Republic looks so good.
