8 Bold Predictions For PS4, Xbox One & Nintendo Switch In 2018
5. Sea Of Thieves Flops
Hey, you. You there. Do you care about Sea of Thieves? Do you even own an Xbox One?
Thought not.
Regardless of the audience just not being there, Rare being a shell of their former selves after over a decade of making Xbox avatars and the "pirate genre"'s heyday being years ago, Sea of Thieves has yet to impress or truly turn heads. None of this is to say that what is out there isn't great, because the idea of a constantly online world populated by interconnected gaming sessions, letting you and friends plunder another player's ship or home base is brilliant - it's just barely being shown off.
We're certainly starving for new IPs in this age of reboots, remakes and re-imaginings, but they need to be bold, confident and shoved in as many peoples' faces as possible.
Sea of Thieves is dropping in just two months, yet I guarantee if you asked the average person on the street, they'd have no idea what it is.
