8 Bold Predictions For PS4, Xbox One & Nintendo Switch In 2018
6. Nintendo's Online Service Remains Free
Remember when the Switch was going to launch not only with a fee to play online, but that Nintendo would include two NES/SNES games per month, with online leaderboards for us all to compete on?
Yeah... that seems to have gone out the window - especially seeing as they've realised they can just release things like Arcade Archives: Vs. Super Mario Bros. for a hefty price (considering its age), and people will either be confused enough to purchase, or want to anyway.
Vs. Super Mario Bros. topped the eShop chart and has remained in the top 10 for months, as just on sheer numbers, tagging a $8/£6 price tag to every old-school classic nets you a greater yield across the millions of Switch owners than one monthly fee.
It'd certainly be great to hash out some global scores on a bout of Balloon Fight, but it literally doesn't make sense to do so.
