8 Challenging Video Game Moments That Made You Sweat

5. Fallout New Vegas - Dead Money DLC

The purpose of downloadable content is usually to provide a player by adding some extra features or additional adventures to their game. However, normally, this additional content remains within the scope of the original game.

The Dead Money DLC for Fallout New Vegas not only expanded on the lore of the Obsidian-developed title but also offered players a completely new and vastly different challenge.

Let's say you poured your points into speech and charisma to become a silver-tongued devil of the wastes. In the main game, this can serve the player well as most quests in New Vegas offer the opportunity to diplomatically solve problems.

In Dead Money, however, this approach would be suicidal. The player travels to the Sierra Madre Casino and is immediately fitted with an explosive collar that can explode at any moment. Add to this, the fact that the grounds of the Sierra Madre is polluted with Cloud, a toxic gas, and ghost people ready to attack around every corner, Dead Money is a deathtrap, particularly for inexperienced players.

Once in the casino, the DLC is relatively easy, but to get there, players must perfect their strategy as many of the RPG elements of the main game are turned on its head, creating a survival challenge like no other in the Fallout franchise.
