8 Details That Will Make Resident Evil 7 Truly Terrifying

Featured in the "Aunt Rhody" video for Resident Evil 7, this old lady is pretty disturbing, despite doing nothing. In fact, precisely because she's doing nothing.

Appearing to be comatose, or resting in some way, possibly even dead, she manages to get around various locations in the house without any obvious signs of being assisted. She also shows up at the Baker family dinner scene shown previously, immediately to the player's left.

Her role in the final game isn't fully understood yet, but she's really unsettling.

There's a strong possibility, considering horror tropes, that at some point she's going to be awoken and jump scare us in some way, but there's also a chance that she could prove to just be one giant red herring and do nothing all game. It's the anticipation, and not knowing, that makes this effective.

Or, in classic fashion, she could also just mutate and turn in to some giant tentacle/eye monster. Because y'know, Resident Evil.
