8 Evil Video Game Choices That Came Back To Haunt You
6. Stealing And Murdering Civilians - Return To Zork
Now let's be clear about something from the off, Return To Zork is one hell of a wild ride.
It's a title that feels like you're playing through a fever dream, in that the characters you meet speak in a sort of improv style and the adventure you're on seems to fluctuate wildly into madness on a tip of the hat. And speaking of hats, I think it's time we talked about the wonderous character known as The Guardian and his ridiculous fedora.
The Guardian, as the name might suggest, is a figure whose aim is to keep the player and its population safe from harm, yet you'll become more accustomed to his ways m'lady if you act like a total rotter. Threaten the population or steal their belongings and there's a chance that the game will intervene in the form of The Guardian appearing before you.
While you might laugh at the fact that he looks like the cross between French cartoon Muzzy and a hat made famous by neckbeards, you won't be chuckling so much when The Guardian doles out his punishment, as not only will you have to return the stolen goods, but he'll take a percentage of all of your other items as well, meaning you'll have even less than when you started!
