So. Gitaroo Man is a weird game. Like really, really weird.

It tells the tale of a young kid called U-1 and his dog Puma and his desperate attempts to win the heart of a girl he likes. It's also a story in which he becomes a six foot guitar-wielding superhero who battles aliens, space sharks, blues bee suited men, and an evil villain named Zoe.

Yeah. like I said it's pretty weird.

Yet the setting of the game give you no indication that ANY of this is going to happen in the beginning, setting up the case that this will be a tale similar to Parappa The Rapper or Um Jammer Lammy, where the pursuit of musical perfection will win the day and teach us a valuable lesson about ourselves in the process.

Hell, the tutorial of the game suggests as such with you just learning the guitar to lay down some licks in the name of love, but then out of nowhere a demon from another dimension shows up forcing your dog to throw a gitaroo at you and turning you into a superhero! It happens so quickly that you're barely going to register what just happened before the first notes hit!

And it only gets crazier, and better from there!
