8 Franchises We Want To See A Lego Game Adaptation Of
7. Stranger Things
Stranger Things will return to Netflix in 2022 for its fourth season. Creators The Duffer Brothers have expressed a preference to wrap things up with a fifth, by which point the teenage cast may all be in their twenties, but regardless of approach it’ll almost certainly be a huge ratings and critical success given the track record of previous seasons, which have attracted record audiences for their nostalgic supernatural mysteries.
Lego have released just a single set based on the series so far, representing both the Byers household and its ‘upside down’ equivalent, but it was well-received and future tie-ins seem quite likely as a result.
There hasn’t been a Lego game based on a television series as of yet, but the arc of each season of Stranger Things would lend itself well to the format, though it may be better (albeit riskier) to wait for the series to end in order to tell its whole story rather than just part of it. The town of Hawkins would be brilliant as a central hub, allowing players to explore locations such as the middle school, national laboratory and Starcourt shopping mall, whilst the ‘upside down’ would be chilling by contrast, keeping players on tenterhooks.
Throw in a sizable cast of characters (including things such as Mike, Will, Dustin and Lucas’ Ghostbusters costumes) and a rocking 80s soundtrack and a game becomes more and more of an appealing prospect.
