8 Franchises We Want To See A Lego Game Adaptation Of
6. James Bond
The upcoming No Time To Die will be the 25th James Bond film, Daniel Craig’s last in the title role and the last before the series’ 60th anniversary next year, which will inevitably lead to promotional tie-ins such as a new Blu-Ray boxset. Now in the hands of Amazon following their recent purchase of MGM, the franchise is almost certainly going to be expanded beyond the film series to create more content for the streaming wars.
Bond games have been plentiful throughout the years, though none have ever topped the magnificence of GoldenEye 64 back in 1997. Hitman developers IO are working on a new action game, but a Lego take would be very refreshing, with each film and the characters and set pieces within it paid homage to by a level.
There’s plenty that could be parodied, from 007’s convenient collection of gadgets through the megalomaniacal tendencies of his motley crew of villains. Guns might prove to be a considerable obstacle, however, as it’d be extremely difficult to have a Bond game that didn’t involve shooting in some way. Previous Lego games have included firearms, but only in a comical capacity or by using lasers instead of bullets.
If this could be worked around, it’d be a licence to print money (rather than kill), enabling the franchise to build its relationship with Lego beyond the release of the Aston Martin DB5 set, impressive in brick form as it was way back in Goldfinger.
