8 Gaming Heroes You Didn’t Realise Probably Died Horrible Deaths

6. Conker - Conker's Bad Fur Day

More like Conker's Bad Fur Life, as following a incredibly fun Aliens parody where Conker lamps a Xenomorph around a room for a bit, the completion of the game sees him forcibly placed onto the throne, presiding over a kingdom surrounded by a wealth of people he genuinely despises.

To any who aren't familiar with any of the Conker's games, they're relentlessly-hilarious genre-benders predicated on taking creatures and worlds as initially aesthetically pleasing Conker himself or the gorgeous world surrounding him, and supplanting them with toilet humour, swearing and an overall more adult tone.

"I am the Great Mighty Poo, and I'm going to throw my sh*t at you; a huge supply of tish comes from my chocolate starfish. How about some scat, you little tw*t?"
Needless to say if you like the sound of fighting a boss called The Great Mighty Poo who sings the above line when introducing himself, complete with lumps of sweetcorn for teeth, Conker is definitely the game for you - especially receiving a full remake for the Xbox in 2005's Live and Reloaded.

Hang on a minute though...

The twist in this tale is that Conker by no means wants to take up the throne in the first place, instead lamenting the fact that his girlfriend - and entire reason for embarking on this adventure in the first place - had been gunned down in a previous level. Now, all alone and surrounded only by people he truly hates, with a character trait that already makes him favour alcohol to destructive levels, chances are that final shot of Conker looking down at the ground before slowly raising his eyes to the camera is a suicidal tendency if ever there was one.

It also seems Rare had the same idea, with Conker's eventual suicide being the original ending for the game by way of blowing his furry brains out. However somewhere along the way they decided this probably wasn't such a good idea due to the potential for future instalments and the realisation that they'd actually created one of the most unique characters in gaming history, even if him ending it all right there on the throne could have further cemented such a thing.
