3. General Raam - Gears Of War
Arguably the boss that started an expected trend in the Gears franchise of boss battles that tested your mettle, General Raam is a tour de force in cool badassery. Heck, he's so cool and loved there's even a DLC chapter you can play as him.
Everyone remembers the first time you meet Raam, impaling poor ol' Minh Young Kim on the end of his massive sword in Gears of War, and nobody forgets the final battle in that same game. Stuck on a moving train with practically nowhere to go, and only Dom for assistance, Raam walks you down whilst sending his bloody annoying Kryll to tear you into pieces.
On Insane, the battle is a total pain in the butt when you're playing on your own, and exceedingly annoying when playing with a friend. So much so, your friendship will never be the same again should you succeed, for better or for worse. You'll squabble over weapon selection, argue about getting to the troika, and scream when that crimson omen hits your screen.
General Raam doesn't just find himself on this list for one battle, but two. In Gears 3 DLC Raam's Shadow, you have to face off against this locust behemoth yet again in a prequel story. The fight isn't as challenging as it is in Gears 1, largely because there's more cover and more support, but it's still a fight and a half.
