1. Queen Myrrah And The Tempest - Gears Of War 3
As mentioned on the first entry of this article, Gears of War 3 is epic, and the game ends with an epic boss fight against the mysterious Queen Myrrah, riding atop her Tempest at the top of Azura. Everything in the trilogy had accumulated to this point, to put an end to the Lambent, the Locust, and queen in charge. Oh, if it were only so simple.
Played on Normal or Hardcore, the battle against the queen is tough, but manageable. Played on Insane, it's not even ridiculous, it's frankly unreal. Easily the hardest fight across the entire franchise, hands down. So let's say it now, damn that queen, damn her Tempest, and most importantly damn those forever spawning drones!
The most annoying thing about this fight is that Myrrah and her Tempest aren't the hardest part; it's those damn drones. No matter where you go on the map, they're after you. Hiding behind pillars, shooting you in the back as you try to save the world. It's enough to drive you crazy. In fact you probably did go crazy. Would we have it any other way though? Probably not, because now we can tell our grandkids the legendary time we toppled the Locust horde and saved the world.
