1. Thunderblight Ganon - The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild

It would take a lot for me to call the majestic Breath of the Wild 'cheap' or unfair, but Thunderblight Ganon comes dangerous close to being broken. His insanely fast moveset ensures a fight against something that the game's otherwise slower-paced combat and Link's animation set just wasn't built for.

Couple that with moves that see Ganon dart in from nowhere and stun-lock you - forcing you to drop any weapons you might use to block in the process - and you have a recipe for pure frustration. And not of the "I see what I need to do next" kind.

Finally overcoming Thunderblight's frenetic tactics feels like thwarting the mightiest of Dark Souls bosses, providing a window into pure, gamer-testing mettle that Zelda has very rarely showcased.
