A game named NASCAR '98 should be pretty self-explanatory. You're a NASCAR driver. In a stock car. Racing around a track. Trying to beat all the other cars to the finish line...

Well, if that's what you were expecting then give yourself a pat on the back. Or don't, because it was bloody obvious.

Being a racing game, its pace is already quite nippy by definition, and until you bag that first-place position, you're going to be constantly on edge and looking for any opportunity to drift on past your opponents.

What if there was a secret way to level the playing field?

And, by level the playing field, I of course mean give you an extreme advantage over the other drivers.

Go into the menu once in a race, and on the 'Race Statistics' page, press and hold L1, L2, R1 and R2 until you hear a roar of an engine. Congratulations: you've officially unlocked paintball mode!

From that point on, if there's anyone in your way or in front of you, just give them a good blast of paint and sent them spinning right off the track. Have fun, you cheating rascal, you.
