8 Hilarious Jokes Hidden In Video Game Item Descriptions

5. Pebbles - Bloodborne

When someone says the word "Bloodborne" to you, what's the first thing that comes to mind?

Is it "Amazing boss fights?", "Horrific Lovecraftian enemies?", "Cool Hunters trenchcoats that you would look a total dork in if you wore it in real life?", well whatever it is that squeaks into your brain full of eyeballs, the least likely thought would be "A good belly laugh" right?

Now I know we've all likely had a chuckle at how easily we've been dispatched by a boss, or giggled like a madman trapped in an asylum as FromSoftware tricks us again with another collapsing floor death, but these are laughs of pain escaping the body as bemusement over out and out expressions of comedy. Yet that all changed when it came to some of the games item descriptions.

As is common for Fromsoft titles, a tonne of the games lore and character backstories are hidden in item descriptions, meaning that dedicated hunters of Bloodborne sifted through countless reams of text to piece together the story, however at the end of all things and as the final chapter of the "Big Book Of Bloodborne" I hope they use the Pebbles text description, for it reads:

"Small Pebbles found throughout Yarhnam. Can be thrown at enemies. Quite Thrilling"

Just everything about that description burst me. The sarcastic depiction of a small rock is felt with every word, and that "quite thrilling" is the icing on the sassy cake.
