8 Imposing Video Game Bosses (That Secretly Suck)

3. The Destroyer - Borderlands

When you've had a force built up for hours and hours it's easy to build an expectation as to what the final encounter is going to be and questions start to swim around your brain: is the boss going to be a huge, arena spanning monstrosity? Are they going to push me to my absolute limit? Am I even high enough a level to take on this thing's shadow?

God, I can't wait to meet this Destroyer! I'm sure it's going to be a... oh. It's just a space vagina monster that goes down quicker than... well, let's end that analogy there.

Honestly, this boss was presented as the eater of worlds but ended up not being able to get through to dessert, feeling positively anaemic in terms of depth. Standing still and unloading round after round into its squishy face was all the tactics needed to put this final challenge to rest and afterwards it left Vault Hunters young and old scratching their heads and going, "wait was this REALLY all we're going to get?"

The Destroyer did anything but its name implied, but it did crush a lot of expectations with just how much it sucked.
