8 Major Worries For The Nintendo Switch In 2018

4. Virtual Console Is Nowhere To Be Seen

Will it or won't it? In the absence of any official word from Nintendo, Switch owners have been left to guess whether one of the Wii and Wii U's most popular features would return for the latter's successor, an uncertainty that never should have been fostered by Ninty in the first place.

One year on, we know now, that Virtual Console will show up eventually, but still not when, what games will be available or whether it will even support the GameCube's vast back catalogue as first rumoured all the way back in 2016.

What's not up for debate any longer, though, is the ETA for the Switch's online service. Monetary gating of the console's online features will commence in September and given that promotional games from the NES & SNES eras are scheduled to be doled out as part of the service, the only logical conclusion is that Virtual Console or its rebranded equivalent will drop on or close to the same date.

If not, well, one can only hope Nintendo has its PR people well-prepped for some rather nasty blowback.
