Seth Rollins is the cover athlete for WWE 2K18, as he revealed on his official Twitter account Monday.

The revelation is the culmination of a five-year main roster career that saw The Architect ascend to the top of the industry, a two-time WWE champion and the company's resident Kingslayer.

During that time, he won championships, found himself on opposite ends of betrayal, suffered the bitter disappointment of an ill-timed injury and came back better than ever. Having vanquished Triple H at WrestleMania and stolen the show at Extreme Rules, Rollins is headed toward another quality year in 2017.

Now the face of this year's eagerly anticipated WWE video game offering, he seeks to take the promotion of the 2K franchise out of the hands of Superstars and personalities whose prime was two decades ago and put it back in the hands of today's promising young stars, as seen in the teaser trailer for the production.

Given the legacy he has written for himself courtesy of these eight unforgettable moments, there is no better choice to do just that.

8. First NXT Champion

From the minute he walked through the doors of Florida Championship Wrestling, fresh off signing his WWE contract, Seth Rollins was poised for greatness in Vince McMahon's company.

He was athletic and had the look of a Superstar the promotion could plaster on posters, t-shirts and action figures and market to the masses. His eventual promotion to the main roster and Superstardom was all but a certainty.

First, he would make history.

When FCW transformed into NXT, Rollins was tapped to be the first champion of the revolutionary new brand. He defeated Jinder Mahal in a tournament final and rose the NXT Championship high in the air for the first time, setting the bar for every Superstar that would follow him.

While his reign would be cut short thanks to that aforementioned promotion, there was no denying that Rollins had kicked off a journey that would lead to bigger, better and historic accomplishments while bringing a legitimacy to a brand new venture that would revolutionize the industry.
