There are few debuts more memorable or industry-altering than that of The Shield.
At the 2012 Survivor Series pay-per-view, Rollins joined Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns in hopping the guardrail, assaulting a surging Ryback and putting the musclebound monster through a table, ending his threat to CM Punk's WWE Championship reign.
The three newcomers immediately introduced a brand of chaos and destruction to WWE television that would become a trademark of the trio for the next two years. Working as one, they would lay waste to the likes of John Cena, Sheamus, Randy Orton, Big Show, Undertaker, Kane and Daniel Bryan amid much fanfare.
Without the instant influence they had on the top of the WWE card at the annual November spectacular, none of that would have been possible.
The ringleader of the group, Rollins was always at the forefront, positioning Ambrose and Reigns for maximum impact. He earned the nickname "The Architect" for a reason, building masterpieces from an in-ring perspective and ensuring The Shield remained the strongest force in professional wrestling.
And when the time came, Rollins tore it down, demolishing the foundation of the future he created.
