8 More Secret Game Over Screens That Were Total Genius

4. Batman: Arkham City - Catwoman Leaves Batman

One of the coolest parts of Arkham City was that it allowed players to control a character who wasn't The Caped Crusader for the first time during the main campaign, occasionally switching to Catwoman (if you had an online pass, anyway).

One such sequence comes after Batman has been immobilised and about to be killed on live television. At the same time, Catwoman is taking part in her own heist, and catches the footage of a wounded Dark Knight on the TV, just before she's about to flee the city for good. At this point, players are given a choice: rush to the superhero's rescue, or continue to leave the city with your haul intact.

At this point, almost everyone will have left Bats to his own devices, just to see what happens. If you do, the villainess gets the hell out of dodge and Batman is killed, while villains like The Joker and Hugo Strange reign victorious.

The credits roll but the game handily rewinds and poses the question to you again, this time so you can do the right thing.
