As all the blacksmiths in the audience will know, pig iron or crude iron is an immediate by product of the iron industry, used to make other types of iron which then make a tonne of products that we take for granted today, like fixtures, building supports and pretty much any other architectural strut you can think of.

It’s also very useful in The Settlers 3, used as a resource to build weapons of war. Therefore, it’s surprising and hilarious to note that if you pirated the game, the devs switched a few things around. Trees would not produce fruit, you can’t make new people to expand your empire, but best of all, the iron smiths would churn out pigs rather than resources.

So instead of some pokey sticks you’d get some porky snorters. Seeing as they’re the only thing you can make on demand, your kingdom will be soon be transformed into a hog's heaven.
