8 Notions That Help To Explain BioShock Infinite's Ending

2. What Is The Epilogue About?

eliz If you get past all the credits, you will see a very small epilogue. At first glance it is quite an odd inclusion as nothing really happens in it but once you figure out the entirety of the story, you realise it means everything. In the epilogue we find ourselves in a Booker's room, a place we have been transported to several times through out the game. Only this time, Robert Lutece isn't knocking on the door to take Anna away. Instead all we hear is her crying in her next room. That is all. But that is the heart of the story right there. The whole story was about a father who had his daughter stolen from him and his journey to be reunited with her. Because Booker went back to a point before he ever became Comstock, he destroyed all the alternate realities where Comstock ever existed, thus allowing himself to be with Anna without the "constant" of Comstock taking her from him. It is a slight story beat but one that really conveys the emotional heart and meaning behind the game perfectly. Now, there is one more thing that I have added on to the next page, although for now, I am filing it under 'fan theory.'
