8 NPCs Who Obliterate You If You Annoy Them Too Much

Now, understandable though it is that Skyrim's denizens will get a little pissy if you start killing their chickens, their response surely qualifies as excessive force all the same.

Kill even a single damn chicken in the game and you'll soon enough find yourself being pursued by a growing mob of vengeful, armed NPCs, who can hack you to pieces in short order if you don't stay on your toes.

As horrible as it might be to needlessly slaughter a chicken or two, the fact that the locals go from 0-100 on the bloodthirstiness scale in seconds is... a choice alright. 

There should probably be a few steps before they pick up arms, like talking to both you and the authorities, negotiating a fine, and maybe even asking for an apology.

But nope, they're straight in there with the axe strikes and arrow hits, because this is a Bethesda game. Be honest, though, you'd miss the NPCs and their hair trigger tempers if they weren't there, right?
