8 Popular Video Game Glitches You Were Never Meant To Find

1. Pokémon - MissingNo.

The glitch that effectively introduced a whole generation of gamers to the concept: the Missing Number or MissingNo. to give it the more common name.

Captured by surfing up and down the right hand side of Cinnabar Island; MissingNo. isn't actually a good thing for the most part. There were several variations of MissingNo.'s sprite and it made a few different sounds when encountered but all was not well.

Save data could easily be corrupted by catching MissingNo., sprites would be scrambled if MissingNo. appeared in the party, multiple player sprites could appear in the overworld - basically things get really buggy.

Your one positive? MissingNo. could be used to duplicate the sixth item in the bag by 128 times but various reports have confirmed this didn't always go as planned - in fact, more often than not it went really rather wrong.

In the briefest of terms; don't catch MissingNo. and stay away from Cinnabar Island wherever possible - Mewtwo was made there for pity's sake! Do you want to end up like Mewtwo!?
