The PC has an enormous E-Sports scene, with some competition prizes going into the millions of dollars. It's only been recently that consoles have started to show progress in this field, but they still massively lag behind their PC cousins. The release of the Xbox Two and PS5 could finally see console e-sports surpass, or at least equal, the PC scene. If these devices do turn out to be ultra-portable with more multi-player-only based games released for them, then large, high prize-money competitions will likely follow.
