8 Reasons Dark Souls Is BETTER Than Sekiro

8. Enemy Variety

Sekiro isn't a slouch when it comes to the different kinds of enemies it throws at you, and players will be battling everything from hulking samurais to murderous chickens throughout their journey. The difference is, because the combat system is based on clashing swords, by necessity a lot of the creatures you fight need to be humanoid and work by the same rules.

Dark Souls, on the other hand, doesn't have that same problem. Sure, it too has its fair share of human-esque enemies, but there's still plenty of variation. They might initially appear similar, but the Black Knights, the ghouls and the bat wing demon all look and act radically different.

Each area in Dark Souls comes with its own appropriately-themed baddies to fight, not only awarding the game with a real sense of visual variety (as well as further adding distinction to each new part of the map), but always offering a new chance to flex your combat skills.

You can go from fighting regular guys with swords one minute to dodging dragons the next, and the sheer unpredictability of what's waiting for you around the next corner is something Sekiro doesn't really have.
