8 Reasons Dark Souls Is BETTER Than Sekiro

6. Exploration Is Actually Rewarding

Sekiro's world is bold and beautiful and a joy to explore, but sometimes venturing out off the beaten path is more hassle than it's worth. Sure, you might bump into some enemies that net you a little bit more XP and Sen, but there's no real drive to set off and seek out the glowing item in the distance because, more often than not, you'll be disappointed by the reward.

All you're really going get is crafting materials for your prosthetic limb, some sugar, and useless pickups that you'll have plenty of anyway like ash. There's rarely ever something exciting to find out in the world except for more content and boss battles.

And that's fine, exploring Sekiro's map is still fun, but Dark Souls had that incentive and then even more on top. The items littered throughout Lodran were all worth picking up, and it was rare you encountered a drop that wasn't worth the effort to get. That's partly because weapons and armour could be found as well, an element of character building Sekiro doesn't have.
