8 Reasons Dark Souls Is BETTER Than Sekiro

1. The Boss Fights

If there's one thing that FromSoftware is virtually unrivalled at, it's boss fights. Throughout each and every one of their games, they've delivered bouts that match their insane difficulty with unbelievable spectacle, and Sekiro is no different. Already, so many players have their own story about the joy they felt overcoming the pain of Genichiro at the peak of Ashina, or how their jaw dropped when the second phase of Guardian Ape's battle kicked into gear.

On the whole though, the amount of bosses in Sekiro leaves something to be desired. For the most part, the game relies on mini-bosses to make up the bulk of its major fights, which, admittedly, can become quite samey. Even when these enemies aren't repeated in their entirety, the focus on sword combat makes a lot feel familiar even if their attacks are technically different.

Bosses in Dark Souls, though, are always radically divergent, both in their attack styles and their appearance. Going into one of these boss areas and looking at a huge beast, only to carve him down to size, awards you with a sense of satisfaction that From's original game delivers over and over again.

Sekiro's greatest bosses can imbue you with the same feeling, but there are only a handful of really notable candidates littered throughout.
