8 Reasons EA Aren't Doing As Bad As You Think
1. A Business Model That Works... For Now
Ultimately, it comes down to their business model. It is a manipulative system of 'in for a penny, in for a pound'. EA knows how to milk their games for everything they are worth at the expense of the player. Their loot boxes make them bank, and as soon as their games start to die out, they move onto the next project. Annoyingly, that all works.
However, there is some hope. That system only works as long as the players let it. And EA is skating on thin ice. They've sacrificed integrity to boost their funds in the short run, but as players grow more savvy and aware, they are going to learn to let go of EA's showmanship promises.
They are steadfast at the moment. They aren't sinking as of yet. But, in the coming years, things can and most likely will get worse. Because whilst they aren't doing as badly as you think right now, that threat is looming on the horizon. In this day and age, players are getting witty. They are getting more in tune with business practices and shady background work. And one day, EA's quick burning match will fizzle out.
Unfortunately, that day is not close by. Yet.
