8 Reasons Persona 5 Is One Of The PS4's Most Promising Exclusives
3. The Story Will Keep You Hooked
A persona game is not one for the faint of heart. You’ll be in store for more twists and turns than a spiral staircase, tackling all sorts of themes, perhaps too many even to list here.
The characters are all woven into the story in immaculately, and none are really interchangeable. There are too many games where you play as Generic Man #4172, and you find that the character has no real character to them, and they serve as nothing but a body to get you from point A to point B. This couldn’t be further from the truth for a Persona game.
In Persona 5, you play as lad who’s been transferred to Shujin Academy in Tokyo. He doesn’t really like the way that things are run, and feels that the people in power oppress those below, delving into the philosophy of modern day emotional slavery. Instead of just starting an online petition, he uses supernatural powers to enter the hearts and minds of the corrupt, stealing a part of them to forcibly change the person for the better.
Across its marketing, the slogan for the game is “Take your heart”, which is fairly literal, apparently.
