8 Reasons Ratchet And Clank Is The Best PS4 Exclusive So Far

4. Not Too Easy, Not Too Hard

Difficulty is a very hard thing to get right in a big budget game. Too easy and 'proper gamers' will complain they breezed through it in just a few hours, but too hard, and nobody except that same few will ever get their money's worth.

Obviously games like Dark Souls or 1001 Spikes revel in laughing at your feeble attempts to surmount their challenges, but Ratchet & Clank is - for a kid's game - very nicely paced and full of natural difficulty spikes. You need only get the hang of how to switch between your assortment of weapons whilst pogo'ing around the level in a menagerie of backflips and side-dodges, and you'll be off to the races.

That is... until you get a bit too cocky and wade into a group of enemies too fast, only to be greeted swiftly by the loading screen as you're wiped out faster than you can say 'Groovitron'.
