8 Reasons Why Bioshock 2 Is The Definitive Game In The Series

5. User Interface Upgrades

Similar to the research camera, there are upgrades to the weapons and health that help Bioshock 2 play as a smoother experience.

When playing Bioshock: The Collection, it's easier to recognize the quality of life improvements for Bioshock 2. Having the drill as the primary melee attack feels right, and since the player is one of the original models of the Big Daddy, nothing is overpowered or feels cheap.

Again with how the research camera is improved, so is hacking. There's no room to breathe anymore by entering a new screen to solve a puzzle; instead, stopping a needle in real time can be chaotic if in the middle of a fight with a group of enemies.

One of the immediately more noticeable differences is the presentation of the screen and menus. It's not the most significant of improvements, but it is worth noting. Infinite's menus are a huge downgrade as well. Nobody will ever spend time in them because there's no reason to. It's clunky and provides little information of value-- with the exception of opening it up to check objectives.

What also is worth noting in Infinite is the addition of the shield upgrade. The shield and the traversal abilities of the sky hook shouldn't be overlooked in this comparison.
