8 Secret Video Game Endings You Didn’t Know Exist
4. The Developer's POV - The Witness
Jonathan Blow's indie puzzler The Witness has a seriously meta ending that can be unlocked within five minutes, if you know how.
After completing the first two challenges as normal, players who click on the sun will access an environmental puzzle. Once that's been solved, you'll gain access to an area called the Island Hotel, and that's when things get weird.
A tongue-in-cheek video shot from Blow's point of view while his was programming The Witness starts to play, giving you a firsthand look at how indie developers live and work. From the look of things, he doesn't lead a lavish lifestyle.
The dev crawls between his computer, the bathroom and the kitchen with a catheter attached, and at one point the camera pans in to what look like a jar of urine on the floor. The glamorous existence of an indie developer, eh?
