It is about.damn.TIME for a new Onimusha game. The series' fourth main instalment, Dawn of Dreams, was released way back in 2006, but came at the close of an impeccably solid trilogy - one that itself, originated from a version of Resident Evil 3.

As such, a passionate fanbase built up, peaked and burst across those early years, but Onimusha has remained strong in the memory regardless. In December 2015, Capcom filed for a new patent as oppose to renewing the established one (which is what you would do, if you weren't just planning on releasing an HD Collection).

The latest update came in February 2016, as Capcom's Yoshinori Ono said he could "reassure fans that conversations are happening at high levels", before noting that "fan favourites are going to come back".

Think of Capcom's slate right now: Dead Rising 4 is up next, Resident Evil 7 is on the horizon and... well, Onimusha would fit in perfectly straight after.
