8 Terrible Games With INCREDIBLE Bosses
5. The Dweller - Dark Void
Remember Dark Void? No?
Despite its badass box art that made pretty much any young kid desperately want to play it, this airborne third-person shooter never rose above feeling like one of the many me-too Gears of War clones that flooded the market throughout the early 2010s.
But that final boss fight against The Dweller approximates the high-wire cinematic mayhem developers Airtight Games were clearly aiming for all along.
The thrill of flying through the air and pelting this alien behemoth with machine-gun fire while evading his powerful salvos, backed by Bear McCreary's goosebump-raising orchestral score no less, speaks for itself.
Sure, this enjoyment requires battling the clunky controls and camera at every turn, but more often than not, this gorgeously staged, epically cinematic final battle is leaps and bounds ahead of everything leading up to it.
