8 Terrible Games With INCREDIBLE Bosses
3. Corypheus - Dragon Age II
The vitriolic reception to Dragon Age II was only exacerbated by how damn great the original RPG was.
The rushed-out sequel was developed in less than 18 months and boy, it shows. From the limited setting to the blatant asset reuse, general lack of customisation, and tedious combat, Dragon Age II marked a far fall from what came before, even if it certainly still has its cheerleaders today.
However, the Legacy DLC did offer up a villain and a boss fight so damn entertaining that he ended up returning as the main antagonist of the third game, Dragon Age: Inquisition.
We're talking, of course, about Corypheus, who beyond his very metal character design and the gravelly authority of his voice, is one tough cookie alright.
His fire, lightning, and ice attacks can run rings around unprepared players, while his constant battery of overwrought villain one-liners make the fight a giddy delight to behold.
This is a quintessential tough-but-fair battle that ends Dragon Age II on a fist-pumping high far beyond anything in the base game.
