8 TERRIBLE Video Game Box Arts That Made You Avoid AMAZING Games

7. Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow (Konami's Best Edition)

This box art might look like a photoshop, but it is not a joke. Repeat, this is not a joke.

When Konami opted to re-release Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow as part of their coveted "Konami's Best" range, rather than simply reprint the original cover art with a Konami's Best banner at the top, they decided to include the full box art, Nintendo DS banner and all, inside the box art window.

Just... what?

It's honestly tough to parse what the logic even is here. While it's not uncommon for discounted re-release versions of games to have ugly cover art, as if to passive-aggressively shame those who bought in much later, this truly goes beyond the pale.

Why isn't the Castlevania box art filling the space it's contained within? Why is it angled? And why are the Nintendo DS, ESRB rating, and Konami logos included twice? It truly beggars belief.

At least this one is absurd enough to be funny, unlike most of the car crash covers on this list.
