This summarises everything Nintendo are about. They're a creator of games, and they're great at it. It's been touched on, but there are so many times I'd love to be sitting down firing through a Mario game and with my PS4, I simply can't match that. When it comes to console-exclusives, what can Sony offer? The Last Of Us remaster, Uncharted (another remaster with a long-delayed sequel on the way), Bloodborne and... Knack? Then there's Microsoft, whose three-pronged PR attack consists of Halo, Gears Of War and Forza. On the other hand, you have Nintendo. They come armed with names and titles that have genuine weight. Mario, the most recognisable character of all time. Zelda, a series we're all desperate to see crafted into a truly next-gen offering. Pokémon, Metroid, Donkey Kong - even their spinoffs are fantastic. Mario Kart, anyone? You just need to take one look at Super Smash Bros. to realise how many amazing characters can be found in Nintendo's library. Yes, they've made almighty mistakes in recent years. Yes, they need to embrace quality third-party content to some degree. Yes, they need to ensure the NX is full of substance as opposed to pure innovation, but at the same time, Nintendo can be proud of the entertainment they've provided so far, and here's hoping they can restore their former glory when the NX hits shelves. Do you think the NX has a shot against the other two titans on the market? Let us know in the comments!
