8 Things You Can No Longer Do In Video Games

6. Use Cheat Codes

One element of gaming that has truly been left in the past is cheat codes. Of course, like many entries here, some games still do have this feature (TT's Lego series, for example), but we're looking at how they have become almost entirely absent from most modern games.

And it is a shame that this is the case. Cheat codes made so many games infinitely more enjoyable, by giving us silly things to play around with, such as anti-gravity. They also provided ways for players who struggled at a specific game to get additional help. It was a win-win situation.

Sadly, finding a game with cheat codes nowadays is rare. The aforementioned Lego series is still going strong and includes cheat codes in every entry. Some of these allow for access to certain characters who might be difficult to obtain otherwise. This is great for kids who might find the game challenging and need a way to easily access the character they love the most, rather than forcing them into a grind.
