8 Things You NEED To Know About AEW’s Video Games

4. Elite GM Sounds Like EWR/TEW-Lite

'Elite General Manager' sounds a bit more impressive.

If you managed to pause the announcement vid (which flashed by at pace), then you'd have caught some cool screenshots showing what's on offer. GM is being touted as a comeback for the beloved mode lost following 2007's WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2008, but it seems to be a bit more like Adam Ryland's EWR or TEW management sims.

Think of GM as 'TEW-lite'. Though you will be massaging egos and trying to book cards that positively impact the TV ratings, you probably won't have the level of depth found in Ryland's Warfare franchises. Tony Khan claims the title will effectively let AEW fans become him - that's a fun spin on this long-lost mode, and it's a neat way of framing things.

It's mobile-only for now too. Maybe if Elite GM sells enough, AEW Games will think about releasing a full version on PC and Mac in the future. It's already obvious from looking at early screens that they'd need to flesh things out a bit.
