8 Things You NEED To Know About AEW’s Video Games
3. Which Wrestlers Are Already Confirmed
Early-build gameplay footage for the main game showed Kenny Omega, Chris Jericho and Hikaru Shida trading moves. It's cool to see some beat 'em up-style overlays pop onto screen when punches and kicks connect, and it's even better that they don't have crummy "POW!" or "THUMP!" accompaniments.
It's also sweet that Yuke's teased The Young Bucks. Two generic WWE 2K 'CAW'-ish character models (you know the ones - those multi-coloured morph suit wearing grapplers from Create-A-Move and the like) were shown hitting a Meltzer Driver on some poor sap. Excalibur could even be heard providing commentary.
Nick and Matt Jackson weren't fully rendered however. The only ones who were, Omega, Jericho and Shida, ended up being the trailer's main focus. Don't panic here. The Bucks will definitely be in there, and so will all of your favourite AEW stars.
Good on them for shining some spotlight on the women's division too. Now, if only the real-life company could do that.
