8 Times Celebrities Spectacularly Failed At Suing The Gaming Industry

1. Michael 'Shagg' Washington Vs. Rockstar Games (Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas)

Ending on one of the biggest lawsuits brought to Rockstar - and also one that seems like one hell of a stretch; Cypress Hill-vocalist Shagg was apparently rather shocked when he was told about the story of San Andreas' opening levels - as he then went on to sue for $250 million, convinced they mimicked his own life experiences. Although it was true that Washington was brought in to consult - and even appears on the endgame credits - for the sake of making sure the authenticity of SA's world was as accurate as it could be, when the main comparison between his childhood and that of CJ in the game was that they both rode bicycles, it fell on deaf ears. The court also noted that " Plaintiff is relying entirely on CJ€™s physical appearance in the game, but that appearance is so generic that it necessarily includes hundreds of other black males€ alongside mentioning that if the game's story bore any resemblance to that of Shagg's, it would have been more in line with the music industry, rather than y'know, anything you actually do in the game. Are there any others that we've missed you think are worth mentioning? Let us know in the comments!
