8 Times The Internet Lied To You About Your Childhood Pokemon Cards

7. Mewtwo Strikes Back - Pokemon The Movie Promos

What's better than going to the cinema as a kid and watching Ash Ketchum on the big screen? Going to the cinema and getting free Pokemon cards!

A trend that has been maintained all the way up to 2019's Detective Pikachu, the Pokemon Company has been giving you free cards with your cinema tickets and Happy Meals for years.

The original four, Dragonite, Electabuzz, Pikachu and Mewtwo, one of which was randomly hidden in a pack are synonymous with our childhood. We all have that one friend who's cousin worked at the cinema and gave him 40 packs, yeah yeah Jamie, whatever.

Certain sites and traders try to pray on this nostalgia and unfortunately, these cards were printed to death to ensure demand was met and aside from the Mewtwo really underpowered.

Despite being over 20 years old even in Near Mint condition they only fetch around £2-£3 each with an extra quid added on if you still have them sealed.
